IMHO I don't think the typefaces and sizes will hold up when all there is to see is a thumbnail. Try looking at these at the same size they are on Amazon before you click on the book.
I think cover #2 expresses the "spirit" of the sea - I write about the sea and to have the sea crashing (for me - and that is - as above - only my humble opinion) for spirit filled :) Steve
I'm a bit torn, but I think I like number one just a little more. I would say if the story is about a person, use cover 1. If it's about the true spirit of the sea, then maybe cover 2. Hope that helps!
